Veterinary Dermatology Specialists launch regional satellite clinic in Bunbury
Veterinary Dermatology Specialists are expanding their reach in Western Australia, stationing a Dermatologist at Treendale Pet Medical Hospital one day a month throughout the Spring and Summer seasons so that veterinary patients can access specialist care closer to home.
The Dermatology program, at Treendale Pet Medical Hospital is launching the consult clinic on October 13, 2020.
“We know we can speed up access to veterinary dermatologists by having members of our team decentralised. It also means less travel for our pet owners who would otherwise have to drive to Perth”, said Dr Fiona Scholz, Veterinary Dermatologist at Veterinary Dermatology Specialists.
Hosting a veterinary dermatologist at the Treendale Pet Medical Hospital – a first for the clinic- means pet owners from the South-West region will be able to get consultations, treatment and follow-up care without going to Perth, Scholz said.
Occasionally, patients with complex conditions will need to come to our dermatology hub located in Osborne Park at Perth Veterinary Specialists however “we want to try and grow the regional dermatology clinic program by partnering with regional primary care veterinary hospitals as many of our services can delivered locally for pet owners” she said.
This will be the second regional Satellite service that the Veterinary Dermatology Specialists offer with the other satellite clinic located at the Dunsborough Veterinary Hospital.
“We’re looking forward to announcing additional satellite clinics within Western Australia soon”.
